Lambert To Leave Blackburn At End Of Season
Manager Paul Lambert has announced that he is to leave Blackburn at the end of the season. A statement issued on the club’s website this afternoon read

“Blackburn Rovers can announce that Paul Lambert will be leaving the club at the end of the current campaign.
The manager has decided to activate a release clause in his contract and will step down following Rovers’ final game of the season against Reading on Saturday May 7th.
“I would like to place on record my thanks to the Owners, and especially the players, staff and fans for the tremendous backing and support I have received since I arrived,” said Paul Lambert.
“It’s a brilliant club, with great people, and I wish it every success in the future. For now, I remain fully focused and determined to try to win the final two games of the season, starting this Saturday against Rotherham.”
Blackburn Rovers would like to thank Paul for all his efforts since joining the club in November and wish him well for the future.
The club will begin its search for a new manager with immediate effect.”
Lambert only joined the club in November following the departure of Gary Bowyer, and the Scot will see out the remaining two games of the season, an away fixture at Rotherham United on Saturday followed by a home game against Reading on the final day of the season.
