We are sad to report the passing of our great friend Peter, who was the Trust Treasurer for many years on the We Are The Rovers Supporters Trust Board.

Peter will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He was a tremendous board member with a passion that united us all: our love for Blackburn Rovers.

Mike Graham, Chair of the Board, and Peter Ridehalgh, Secretary of the Board, have echoed the entire board’s sentiments with the statement below.

The board of We Are The Rovers would like to pass on their deepest sympathies to the family of Peter Dickinson who sadly passed away on Sunday 4th August.

Peter was a dedicated family man and a lifelong Blackburn Rovers supporter who rarely missed a match at Ewood Park. Peter was also a regular attendee at Rovers under 21 matches (or ‘the Reserves’ as he always called them) and liked nothing better than travelling with his grandson and family on exciting trips to away matches.

Peter had held the position of Trust Treasurer for many years and always carried out his duties with dedication and with a smile on his face. He was proud to have the opportunity to use his skills and experience in order to give something back to his beloved Rovers. Peter often made his office available for WATR board meetings and made everyone feel at home by generously providing coffee and biscuits.

Peter will be remembered as a loyal servant to the Trust, a valued colleague and, more importantly, a true gentleman and a great friend. He will be sadly missed.
