The Trust and the club signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the first Trust and Club Board meeting. This was followed up by a signing on the pitch at the Girona pre-season friendly.
The ACV ensures that Ewood Park’s primary use is for football. This has now been signed for the 3rd time ensuring the grounds use until at least 2027.
The Trust organised a Fans Day for the home friendly with Girona. The crowd was a healthy 5,630 and the 4,000 Holes programme sold an extra 600 copies. Thanks to all Fans Groups that joined us, it was a great day!!!
At the end of September, the elected Board members meet the Club Board for our first meeting of the 2023/4 cycle. We will be discussing several key issues in the running of the Club. Marketing, Season-tickets, and the heritage agenda will be discussed. Section 2(d) of the MoU allows us to discuss with the Club the recent effects of the Owner’s reduction of budgets and another wave of cost-cutting measures. You will hear more on this in coming days.
Question and Answer with Rover’s Senior Management Team
In October we hope to organise a Q&A session at Ewood with Steve Waggott and Greg Broughton. This will be free to Trust Members and £10 for non-Trust Members. Date to be announced.
The last Game pre-Xmas on Saturday 23rd of December versus Watford we are going to boost the crowd to 20k by holding a Winter Fans’ Day. Any ideas for activities or if you want to volunteer to help, please email enquiries@roverstrust.co.uk We hope other Groups will also supplement what we do, but new ideas and additional support is very welcome.
There are two things of interest internationally. Firstly, one of our Icelandic members, unable to get over to many matches at Ewood Park has donated a Youth Season Ticket to a deserving young supporter. Thanks, Thor !!
If you would like to do the same, for a Christmas half season-ticket, then please contact chair@roverstrust.co.uk and we will organise the ticket and the young person(s) to receive it.!!
Secondly, a third of Trust members are based in Europe and beyond. Andy Young, Our Director for National and International Liaison is keen to hear from you. We want to link up with clusters of members in Norway, Ireland, Australia, India in fact anywhere in the World!!! Again, please contact chair@roverstrust.co.uk and we can make closer links to you.
Finally…..we are still clearing the Membership data-base and adding the 40 new members from the last few months. We are contacting Members who have dropped off the list (mainly because of changes of Debit Card) so if you hear from us, PLEASE respond. We have a new Membership Officer, Janet Rutter, who would love to hear from you. Contact membership@roverstrust.co.uk
